MARY SETTE
Mary Sette is a writer/director based in Los Angeles.
Her noir comedy, HOT TODDY, was named Programmer’s Pick at SeriesFest and successfully screened at festivals nationwide, including Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ+ and the Montclair Film Festival. Her scripts have been short-listed by Sundance Institute, Hedgebrook Screenwriting Lab, and Austin Film Festival. Additionally, she has been a mentee in both Women in Animation and Women in Film for writing and directing.
Alongside her work in film, Mary is an accomplished illustrator and cartoonist, showcasing her work at Toronto Comic Arts Festival, LA Zine Festival, and Small Press Expo.
She is currently studying in UCLA’s Extension Directing Program and working on her next film, shot on 16mm.
Mary received her MFA from USC's John Wells Division of Writing for Screen and Television and her BA from George Washington University, where she double-majored in English and Creative Writing.
She is originally from a small farm town in NJ known for its meatballs and regret.

HOT TODDY is an animated comedy and teenybopper whodunnit about two ex-BFFS and the buckets of blood between them, only some of which from their periods.
