MARY SETTE
Mary Sette is a writer/director & illustrator based in Los Angeles. She is currently working on a 16mm short film, Love is a Dog. Play dead.
Her noir comedy, Hot Toddy, was named Programmer’s Pick at SeriesFest and screened at festivals like Outfest, Brooklyn, Montclair Film Festival & many more. Her scripts have been shortlisted by Sundance Institute, Hedgebrook Screenwriting Lab, & Austin Film Festival. She has been a mentee in both Women in Animation & Women in Film for writing and directing.
She’s showcased her illustration at Toronto Comic Arts Festival, LA Zine Festival, & Small Press Expo. She’s attended Emily Flake’s St. Nell's Humor Residency, CalArts Animation Residency & SAW’s Graphic Novel Intensive.
Mary received her MFA from USC's John Wells Division of Writing for Screen and Television and a Bachelor's Degree from The George Washington University, in English and Creative Writing.
Mary is originally from a small farm town in NJ known for its meatballs and regret.
She is full of regret.
HOT TODDY is an animated comedy and teenybopper whodunnit about two ex-BFFS and the buckets of blood between them, only some of which from their periods.
